Peter came to audiology later in life, retraining in his early 40s after a successful career elsewhere. He began his journey in audiology with Sie-Tech in Manchester and, after two years, moved into a new venture with Specsavers as a HJVP (Store Director). In 2004, he became co-owner and audiologist of the Hereford store. Over time, this expanded into a hub-and-spoke model, with branches in Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, and Ludlow.
By the time Peter sold his shares in December 2019, the operation had grown into a thriving, with a strong team and a steady flow of both private and NHS patients. In the five years leading up to the sale, the team had dispensed over 7,000 pairs of hearing aids to NHS patients. Peter is especially proud of his role in training three audiologists, two hearing care assistants (HCAs), and numerous hearing assistants—many of whom went on to achieve successful careers in audiology. Notably, one of his former HCAs who qualified as a hearing aid dispenser eventually bought his share of the business and took on a leadership role.
Peter joined The Hearing Care Partnership out of a sense of professional pride, drawn to the company’s strong identity and consistent values. He enjoys being back in a clinic setting, where he can focus on high-quality care, receive constructive feedback, and build meaningful relationships with patients while improving their hearing and well-being.
Outside of work, Peter is an avid road cyclist with over 15 years of experience. More recently, he has taken up indoor target shooting with air rifles, a hobby that demands a steady hand and mindful breathing—skills that echo the precision he brings to his clinical work.
