General use earplugs

Our earplugs for general use protect the ear against excessive ambient noise. They allow you to enjoy the sounds you want to hear while helping to attenuate the sound to a safer listening level. They use patented technology that replicates the natural resonance of the ear canal so that sounds are heard as clearly as the original, only quieter.

Custom-fit earplugs

We have a variety of custom-fit earplugs suitable for almost any environment where the noise levels are higher than recommended. Custom-made hearing protection is produced from impressions of the patient’s ears. This provides the most accurate and tailored fit with maximum comfort. A custom ear protection can be fitted with a choice of filters, depending on the requirements of the user.

In-ear monitors

Custom in-ear monitors are moulded earphones that deliver clear, low-distortion sound while reducing background noise by around 26 dB. Most musicians use these for rehearsals and live performances, as they allow for the live sound of all instruments and sometimes a click track (for singers) to be fed into their ear at the right levels to better measure their performance without the distraction of noise in the environment.

Prices start from £300 and include a 60-day comfort guarantee with adjustments if needed.

These earplugs help reduce irritation from water, chlorine and bacteria, while still allowing some awareness of your surroundings from £89.

Shooting earplugs

Luxury fit shooting plugs protect your hearing when you need it most. The suppressors react upon the impact of the momentary loud sound waves that occur when the gun fires. This means you can chat normally when it’s quiet, but as soon as someone fires, your hearing is protected.

Available in both custom moulds from £155.

What hearing protection do I need?

Understanding which hearing protection you require depends on several factors, including noise level, length of exposure, personal comfort and how you intend to use them. Our foam, silicone and custom-moulded earplugs all offer different benefits.

Before selecting hearing protection, asking yourself these few probing questions can guide you in the right direction:

  • Who is the hearing protection for? (adult, musician, professional)
  • What situation will you use it in? (concerts, work, sleep, sports, shooting)
  • What do you value most? (maximum noise reduction, comfort, reusability, discretion, affordability)

For example, musician’s in-ear monitors preserve sound quality while reducing volume, whereas shooting earplugs provide high-impact noise protection and sleeping earplugs focus on comfort for overnight wear. Still unsure and would like to speak to an audiologist?

How to clean and care for hearing protection products

Keeping your hearing protection clean helps maintain hygiene, comfort, and effectiveness. For reusable earplugs wash them with mild soap and warm water after each use and allow them to air dry completely before storing in a clean, dry case. This prevents dirt and oils from building up and helps them last longer.

With custom-moulded earplugs, it’s especially important to remove any debris or earwax and inspect them regularly for signs of wear. It’s generally recommended using a moist cloth or cleaning tool to wipe away buildup and to keep the internal filters dry, so performance isn’t affected.

Disposable foam earplugs are not designed to be washed; they should be replaced after each use as they can absorb dirt and lose shape.

Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions specific to your product for best results, and store earplugs in a clean, dry place when not in use to prevent contamination and extend their lifespan.

FAQs

To get custom-fit earplugs, book an appointment with our hearing care professionals. During your visit, an impression of your ears will be taken to ensure a precise fit. Your custom earplugs will then be made to order.

In your hearing protection appointment, you will be able to discuss the intent you have for your ear protection with your audiologist, who will be able to advise on the best product and the right noise attenuation level based on how loud the environment is, how long you’ll wear them, and comfort. Foam earplugs are affordable and work well for most situations, whereas custom-moulded earplugs offer the personalised reliability and comfort for long-term use.

To clean your earplugs, start by checking the manufacturer’s instructions. Reusable earplugs can usually be washed with warm water and mild soap. Gently rub away any dirt, rinse thoroughly, and let them air dry completely before reuse.

Foam earplugs are typically single-use and should be replaced once they become dirty or lose their shape. Regular cleaning and proper storage help keep your earplugs hygienic and effective.

Please follow the specific instructions given with your earplugs. For general guidance, roll foam earplugs into a tight cylinder, gently pull your ear upwards and open the ear canal to insert the plug. Pre-moulded earplugs can be gently pushed into the ear until they fit comfortably. To remove, slowly twist whilst pulling outwards.
