The Hearing Care Partnership are excited to announce the opening of two new clinics in Northern Ireland, in partnership with E. McElholm Opticians. We will be working with their teams to provide comprehensive hearing care services in both their Kircubbin and Downpatrick practices, complementing their extensive eye care service.

McElholm Opticians have been serving their local communities for many years. The Downpatrick practice was first opened by Edel McElholm in 1996, followed by Kircubbin in 2001, and both have won many awards over the past two decades.

The teams at McElholm Opticians pride themselves on their ability to deliver the highest quality care while making you feel as comfortable as possible. They utilise the very latest technology to deliver this, including OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) which they first invested in back in 2015, introducing the incredible equipment to their Downpatrick practice.

The technology is nothing without the team; luckily, E. McElholm Opticians have professional, friendly staff who can give expert advice on your eye health, as well as guide you through the latest trends in frames and innovations in lenses. The team delight in helping you find a tailored solution and continuing to build long-term relationships with their patients.

The Hearing Care Partnership’s expert audiologist, Glenn Haveron, has joined the team at McElholm Opticians to help the practices expand their services to include ear wax removal, free hearing tests, tinnitus consultations, hearing aids and hearing protection.

Glenn was inspired to start a career in audiology following his time working in a high street optical chain. He got along well with the Director of Audiology and found himself learning lots from their many conversations, so when an opportunity arose to explore Audiology further, Glenn seized it and hasn’t looked back since.

Glenn went on to gain several qualifications, including studying Audiology at De Montfort University, Leicester, gaining his second degree. Alongside his degree, he also gained qualifications in microsuction and water irrigation wax removal.

“I joined The Hearing Care Partnership in February 2022 and have enjoyed every minute of my time so far! With THCP I’m able to spend quality time with my patients, helping them find the right hearing solutions for their needs and most importantly improving people’s quality of life!”

Outside of work, Glenn enjoys spending time with his young daughter, reading and watching movies (although it’s mostly kids shows these days!).

To book an appointment with Glenn in either Downpatrick or Kircubbin, call us on 0800 52 00 546 or book online. Alternatively, you can contact your local practice directly.
