The short answer is: absolutely!
It’s easy to think of hearing aids as the big, beige, whistling devices you remember your grandparents struggling with, and associate hearing aids with being impractical and old-fashioned. But today, that is simply is no longer the case. Hearing aids help, not hinder, an active and social lifestyle.
The New-Age of Hearing Aids
Digital hearing aids come in so many different style, from Invisible In-Canal (IIC) to Behind The Ear (BTE). In-the-ear hearing aids are the most discreet, tucking inside your ear and automatically changing settings so you’ll almost forget it’s there at all!
Behind-the-ear hearing aids come in a spectrum of colours, designed to blend in with natural skin tones and hair colours, and are much sleeker today than models before them.
Keep Warm
This new slender technology means you can wear most ear muffs, hats and scarves over your hearing aids without affecting the mechanism. Severe cold weather can drain the batteries in hearings aids faster, so it’s a good idea to try and prevent them getting too cold. Not to mention, condensation can form when you go from very cold environments to the warm indoors. This can lead to moisture forming inside the mechanism unless you’re careful, so be sure to clean your hearing aids regularly.
